Sixth Class the Journalists!
As you know, we have some fantastic journalists in Sixth Class who have been producing excellent Newsletters for us all year. This term, the team has stepped up their skills by producing a documentary! ‘The Man Behind the War’ was researched, written and edited entirely by Sixth Class. For the past couple of weeks, the children have been learning about World War 2. Please enjoy their documentary below explaining all they have learned.

Communion 2023
Second Class completed Miss Kennedy’s mystery maths trail by following a number of riddles and clues around the school. The treasure was discovered locked away! The gang worked as an excellent team to crack the code and enjoyed a tea party to celebrate it!

Seachtain na Gaeilge, March 2023
Seachtain na Gaeilge was filled with fun this year! Rinneamar iarracht an teanga, an ceol agus an cultúr Gaelach a úsáid agus a chur chun cinn. Bhí céilí againn ar lá glas, bhí ceachtanna ceoil againn, mar is gnáth agus anuas ar sin, chruth Rang a Dó, Trí agus a Céathair scannán le Miss Kennedy! Bhain sult as!
Grandparents Day 2023
After what feels like forever, we finally got to welcome our Grandparents back to the school for our annual Grandparents’ Day! The children sang their hearts out and performed fantastic music and poetry for the grandparents. Beautiful art was made and a secret project with Ms. Kennedy was worked on behind the scenes. Christmas in Moyasta National School!
Christmas in Moyasta was filled with Music and fun this year! We performed our annual nativity show in Lisdeen church. Santa came to visit! We performed at the Vandeleur Gardens. We busked at Supervalu in Kilrush to fundraise for a Defibrillator for the community. We performed for the residents of Regina House. On St. Stephen’s Day morning, we called door to door on the wren too to fundraise for the community. As always, the generosity of the people of Moyasta was incredible and we were able to raise enough to buy a Defibrillator for the villiage!
Junior Room Explore Kilrush!
In November 2022, the Junior Room went on a scavenger hunt around Kilrush town! They explored the history, visited the local shops and met all the important members of the community! They saw inside the Garda Station and Fire Station, toured Gleeson’s toy shop and ate yummy food in Supervalu and Bowmans Lane! What a fantastic day!
Oíche Shamhna i Maigh Sheasta!
Just before Midterm Break 2022, we completed our annual Skeleton Walk today from Garrihy’s Bar! The children were unrecognisable dressed up as all sorts of scary things!
